Diagnosis This species is similar to Promalactis roesleri Lvovksy, 2000a , in the wing pattern, but it can be easily distinguished by the male genitalia with the valva blunt at apex, the juxta with a large hook-shaped lobe, and the aedeagus bearing distinctly developed two cornuti. Figure 5 (continued). Description Adult ( Figures 2d , 3d ). Head: Frons whitish pale yellowish brown. Vertex white with yellowish brown occiput. Antenna with scape white entirely, as long as diameter of eye; flagellum white and brown alternately dorsally. Labial palpus with yellowish brown of second segment; third segment white basally, tinged with dark brown to apex; third segment longer than second segment. Thorax: Thorax dark brown. Tegula yellowish brown. Wingspan 9.5–10.0 mm. Fore wing ground colour yellowish brown; three white bands edged with fuscous scales: subbasal band very oblique, nearly straight; antemedian band much broader than subbasal band, from one-quarter of costa to one-third of posterior margin, broadened at both ends; postmedian band connected to costal patch, gradually narrowed toward posterior margin; costal patch at two-thirds, semiovate; a spot at apex, weakly developed; fringes dark brown, except white near apex. Hind wing ground colour pale greyish brown; fringes greyish brown. Male genitalia ( Figure 4d, 4 da–d). Uncus long, tougue-shaped, wide at base, gradually narrorwed toward sub-apex, with thumb-like apical process. Gnathos inverted bellshaped, wide at base, gradually narrowed toward sub-apex and then straight to apex with blunt caudal margin, rarely setose on lateral margin. Tegumen simple, twice as long as uncus. Valva asymmetrical with blunt apex; costa slightly concave before middle, gradually convex to sub-apex, setose from four-fifths to apex; saccular weakly sclerotized, broad basally and narrowed toward termination, extending tow-thirds of posterior margin, setose from four-fifths to apex. Juxta with large hook-shaped lobe bearing pointed apex, longer than uncus plus tegumen. Saccus funnel-shaped. Aedaegus wide at base, slightly bent before apex. Cornuti two: shorter one one-quarter length of the other; longer one half length of aedeagus; the latter one dividing into two, bifurcate with different length. Female unknown Holotype Male. Northern Sumatra Rd. 28 km , southwest P. Siantar , 1050 m , 17 July 1993 , J.B. Heppner , gen. slide no. 9317/ S. Kim. Distribution Indonesia ( Sumatra : North). Etymology The specific name is derived from the Latin hamat - (= hooked), plus the Latin suffix - tella , referring to a large hooked-shaped lobe of juxta in the male genitalia.
