Among the Nemia species, N. elongata can be readily recognised by its slender forewings that have a subacute apex ( Fig. 163 ). Size (mm). Male: body length 11.2 (10.2–13); forewing 26.4 (23.4–29.2); hind wing 61.5 (45–69.4); antenna 24.2 (20.5–26.7). ( All SANC ) . Distribution and habitat. This species is only known from Vanrhynsdorp in the Northern Cape Province , South Africa ( Fig. 174 ). The town is within the Knersvlakte Bioregion ( Mucina & Rutherford 2006 ) or Vanrhynsdorp centre. The area occupies the southern part of Namaqualand and is close to the west coast. Generally, the habitat is semi-arid, characterised by a winter rainfall regime and succulent vegetation.
