Distribution in Israel : both localities are extremely arid, with rocky substrates, average annual temperatures between 20–24˚C and annual precipitations between 50–100 mm ( Figure 4 B). The specimens examined agree with the well known species S. gracilis in all diagnostic characters. However, Israeli populations are widely disjunct from the known range of the species, thus requiring further studies.
