Diagnosis : Small (3.0–4.0 mm) globose-elongate. Epistoma impressed, clypeus flat and rather shallowly longitudinally impressed in middle. Elytra clothed with coppery-golden scales just slightly imbricate and long thin almost recumbent setae. Aedeagus with subtrapezoidal apex. Description : See Pierotti & Bellò (1994) . Distribution : Pantelleria Island; known only from the type locality. Material : A total of 69 specimens , including the holotype ( PIE ) and paratypes ( BEL , OSE, PIE ) were examined. Localities : Pantelleria ( HOF ): Montagna Grande ( BEL , OSE, PIE ). Ecology : Adults have been collected at the end of June in Pinus undergrowth and under Mediterranean shrubs. Possibly the phenology is similar to other Pseudomeira , namely with adults aestivating and reappearing in autumn. Reproduction : Amphigonic.
