Carpophilus (Ecnomorphus) corticinus Erichson, 1843
Notes.
This is a new record for Canada and Ontario.
Carpophilus (Ecnomorphus) corticinus
was collected in four different localities across the Southern region of Ontario in 2018, 2019, and 2020. There are no other records of this species for Canada in either BN or IN. However, Ontario is listed under the distribution description for
Price's
(2003)
thesis of
Kateretidae
and
Nitidulidae
of Wisconsin.
Carpophilus (Ecnomorphus) corticinus
has been recorded from US states bordering Canada, including New York, Ohio, and Michigan as well as south to Texas and Georgia (
Parsons 1943
;
Downie and Arnett 1996
).
