REMARKS This species was known previously only from the type-collection ( Bamber 2004b ), also from the Solomon Islands , slightly north-east of the present record, at 1036-1138 m depth. The cement-gland pore on the type-males was not clear; on the present male, it is evident as an elongate pore proximal on the dorsal surface of the femur. The present specimens extend the lower depth range to 1750 m . Bamber (2004b) gave a table for distinguishing the four known species of Bathyzetes .
