Loneura tayronensis
n. sp.
(
Figs 8–16
)
Diagnosis.
Related to
L. baiana
Moura
Lima
et al.,
differing from it in having the posterior border of the central sclerite of the hypandrium, between the posterior processes, convex, but not as prominent as in
L. baiana
,
besides, the processes are much longer and setose than in
L. baiana
(
Fig. 11
).
Male. Color
. Body brown, with cream areas. Head brown (
Fig. 10
), with oblique dark brown bands, from the inner margin of each compound eye to a large dark brown area in the front, between the ocellar triangle and the epistomal sulcus. Compound eyes black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Vertex cream with large brown spots. Postclypeus brown, with V-shaped ochre area. Anteclypeus and labrum pale brown. Genae brown, postgenae pale brown. Antennae: scape and pedicel pale brown, flagellomeres 1–2 light brown. Maxillary palps light brown, Mx4 dark brown. Tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax brown. Thoracic pleura: pro- and mesopleura light brown, with ochre areas; metapleura light brown. Legs light brown. Wings hyaline, veins brown, with a brown spot at wing margin (
Figs 8–9
). Abdomen light brown, with small, ochre spots. Hypandrium dark brown; phallosome dark brown, endophallic sclerites brown. Epiproct cream, paraprocts light brown.
Morphology.
Head (
Fig. 10
) H/MxW: 1.38; compound eyes large, H/d: 2.47; IO/MxW: 0.49; vertex below the level of the upper border of the compound eyes; outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with 6–7 denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.33. Forewings (
Fig. 8
) L/W: 2.57; pterostigma: lp/wp: 4.41; M six branched, M6 distally forked; areola postica: la/ha: 1.52, broadly triangular, apically rounded. Hindwings (
Fig. 9
) l/w: 2.92; M four branched. Hypandrium (
Fig. 11
), lateral sclerites small, irregular, separated from the central sclerite. Phallosome (
Fig. 13
) anteriorly Vshaped, side struts stout; external parameres sclerotized, slender, elongate, with short teeth on the outer margin distally; five endophallic sclerites; anterior pair large and laminar, mesal sclerite with anterior process tapered and curved outwards; mesal sclerite processes elongate; lateral sclerites laminar, with elongated process, tapered and curved outwards. Paraprocts (
Fig. 12
) oval, with distal setal field, sensory fields with 24 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct (
Fig. 12
) convex anteriorly, broadly rounded posteriorly, with setae as illustrated and a field of microsetae along posterior border.
