Revised diagnosis for the species.
Caipirasuchus
is diagnosed by the following autapomorphies: quadrate with the medial condyle extremely elongate ventrally, lower than the ventral edge of the lateral condyle; the rostral lateral wall is vertical with an abrupt transition to the dorsal surface; presence of an oval antorbital fenestra slightly inclined anterodorsally-posteroventrally and lanceolate supraorbital fenestra with its anterior portion more acute than the posterior one.
The pterygoids and ectopterygoids are very high, with the dorsoventral dimension corresponding to approximately sixty percent of the total height of the cranium. The pterygoid medioventral surfaces are smooth.
