Our collections of M. blanci indicate that the larvae and pupae typically inhabit medium to large (mean width = 11.1 m ), cool to warm (up to 22°C) rivers with moderate to fast flow and substrate of rubble, gravel, and sparse boulders. Larvae and pupae were found from November to January and again from March to June, perhaps representing staggered hatching or distinct cohorts. Sites: 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22.
