Type Species. Acroclita trimelaena Meyrick, 1922 , by original designation. Remarks: Rhopaltriplasia is similar to other Eucosmini in the following character states: hindwing veins M3 and CuA1 stalked, valva with a distinct “neck” between the sacculus and the cucullus in the male genitalia, and ductus bursae sclerotized anteriorly with a ring at middle in the female genitalia ( R. insignata ). Diakonoff (1973) placed Rhopaltriplasia in Olethreutini based on features of the the male genitalia, including the extensive tegumen, the developed uncus and gnathos, and the long spined sacculus of the type species.
