Tortum 3 km towards Narman ( N =20); D= 13.1–17.3 mm , B = 15.8 mm ; H= 7.8–10.9 mm , B = 9.6 mm ; D/H=1.50–1.87, B =1.64. Remarks. Caucasocressa taochorum differs from the related species in the ratio epiphallus: flagellum (see table 2 ), which is higher than that of the geographically neighbouring C. tortumensis , but lower than that of C. schmalzi and C. phasiana . It differs from C. tortumensis and C. phasiana also in the higher epiphallus: vagina ratio and from C. schmalzi in the distinctly narrower umbilicus, taking only 7–11% of the shell breadth. Etymology. The species epithet refers to the occurrence of the species in the land of the ancient tribe Taochi ( taochorum , genitive plural). Type locality. V . Erzurum : Tortum 3 km towards Narman , rocks, GE26 . Distribution and material (figure 2). Caucasocressa taochorum is known only from the type locality east of Tortum. Turkey : V . Erzurum : Tortum 3 km towards Narman , rocks, GE26 (det. anat.; holotype NNM , leg. H. Menkhorst , 31 July 1990 , measurements: D= 17.2 mm , H= 10.1 mm ; paratypes MEN ; ZMH 2902 ) .
