Telegeusis boreios may be distinguished from the sympatric T. sonoraensis sp. n. by its smaller size, aplical paplpomeres shorter than the antennae, eyes longer than interocular distance and distance between eyes and pronotum than T. sonoraensis , and protuberance on the head. Description. Size. Length 3.88; width 0.64. Color. Yellowish, apex of elytra and apical palpomeres black. Head. Interocular area convex, forming a small protuberance ( Fig. 8 ); at eye level wider (0.70) than long (0.60) and wider than pronotum (0.60)., forming a small gibba. Distance between eye and pronotum as long as length of eye (1.00). Integument chagrined with numerous tiny puctures, each with a yellow imbricate seta. Antenniferous tubercles prominent. Interantennal area 2.57 times length of scape. Antennae slightly longer than apical palpomeres. Eyes reduced, longer (0.20) than wide (0.12); interocular distance 4.16 times width of eye. Forehead sloping, concave, anterior margin straight. Labrum ( Fig. 4 ) with anterior margin sinuate. Thorax. Pronotum ( Fig. 8 ) wider (0.60) than long (0.50), as wide as length of head; anterior margin subemarginate, posterior margin convex, sides straight; disk flat and bright; integument chagrined, setose, with tiny, sparse punctures. Scutellum shiny, closely punctate and setose, posterior margin rounded. Elytra ( Fig. 13 ) nearly parallel-sided, 3.75 times as long as wide, posterior margin rounded. Integument shiny, rough, punctate, especially in apical third, each puncture with an imbricate seta. Membranous wings ( Fig. 18 ) nearly 2.5 times longer than wide. Abdomen. Brilliant, integument chagrined, with tiny punctures, each with a yellow, imbricate seta. Female unknown. Distribution. SONORA. TYPE MATERIAL. Holotype male: MÉXICO , SONORA, 36.6 Km. Etymology. The name refers to the Greek word boreas , which corresponds to the north of the country.
