( Figs. 9 , 44 ) Neochauliodes sinensis truncatus Kimmins, 1954 . Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.) Ent. 3: 440. Type locality: India ( Assam ). Type material. Allotype , INDIA : Assam , Khasi Hills , Shillong , 5000 ft , 14.VI.1928 , T . B. Fletcher ( NHM ). Distribution. India ( Assam ). Remarks. Although we saw only a habitus image of the allotype of this species, its taxonomic status can be clarified based on its appearance and genitalic figures made by Kimmins (1954) . Here, we treated this as an independent species within the N. sinensis species-group by virtue of its distinct genitalic differences from N. sinensis . This species appears to be closely related to N. nigris by the similar wing patterns and male genitalia, but can be separated from N. nigris by the more distinctly separated median transverse bands in the forewings and the female gonocoxite strongly narrowed at tip. In N. nigris , the median transverse bands are not separated and the female gonocoxite is not strongly narrowed but incised on the ventrodistal margin.
