Revision of the Afrotropical species of Dohrniphora DAHL (Diptera: Phoridae) Author Disney, R. Henry L. text Zootaxa 2003 196 1 24 journal article 10.5281/zenodo.156866 9b3da648-15c5-4f12-be3c-340a9cbee03a 11755326 156866 Genus Dohrniphora Dahl Dohrniphora Dahl, 1898 : 188 . The genus is keyed by Disney (1994) along with a summary of the identification literature for each Biogeographical Region. The Afrotropical species were last keyed by Beyer (1959a) . This has been supplemented by Disney and Kistner (1989 , 1997 ), Disney (1991) and Disney and Darlington (2000) . In this paper I offer new keys to the males of the Afrotropical species, following the description of the new species. A partial key to females was provided by Disney and Kistner (1997) , but as most of the new species are only known in the male sex this key has not been revised. In this genus the male hypopygia are surprisingly similar. Consequently species recognition has come to be based primarily on the details of the spinule complex at the base of the male hind femur. New species and notes on selected species Except where indicated otherwise, the material is deposited in the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology (CUMZ). My reference numbers indicate the relevant notebook and page number, which is also written on the slide label. Thus 627 means notebook 6 page 27. The diagnostic characters for each species are those used in the key below.
