Revision of the Micronoctuidae species occurring in the Russian Far East and neighbouring countries with description of a new species (Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea) Author Fibiger, Michael Author Kononenko, Vladimir S. text Zootaxa 2008 1890 50 58 journal article 10.5281/zenodo.184324 d2449b20-4248-48ff-acea-2c4c7dcf9fd1 1175-5326 184324 Genus Mimachrostia Sugi, 1982 Mimachrostia Sugi, 1892 , In Inoue et al. , Moths of Japan . Vol. 2: 893. Type-species: Mimachrostia fasciata Sugi, 1982 . Species of Mimachrostia have several unique external and internal features: the weakly marked reniform stigma; the shape of the 8th tergite and sternite, the former with a prominent crest; and the easily observable ostium bursae hole on the left side of the abdomen. The genus Mimachrostia was erected for two species, M. fasciata and M. owadai Sugi, 1982 , however, the latter belongs to another genus (Fibiger in prep. ). The genus was originally placed in the subfamily Ophiderinae (sensu auctorum). The structures of the tergite and sternite of the type species of Mimachrostia are unique; similar shapes have not been found in other groups of Micronoctuidae . On the basis of several synapomorphies in the abdomen and male and female genitalia Mimachrostia is a member of a phylogenetically ancestral subfamily of Micronoctuidae (Fibiger in prep. ).
