. Palaearctic.
Diagnosis
Worker.
Uniform yellow; petiole with a flat dorsal surface sloping anteriorly; mesonotum sides, propodeum, and coxae covered with pale appressed pubescence; body shining.
Material examined.
One site: 11.
Geographic range.
The geographic distribution in the Palaearctic region is not clear due to the mislabelling of the
type
material of
C. livida
and
C. viaticoides
, which led to confusion (
Salata
et al
. 2021
). This species has a wide distribution on the Arabian Peninsula (
Collingwood 1985
;
Collingwood and Agosti 1996
;
Collingwood
et al
. 2011
). Its occurrence in
Egypt
,
Israel
,
Syria
, and
Antalya Province
in
Turkey
is also confirmed.
Ecology and biology.
Nests were found next to
Acacia gerrardii
Benth
in the
Riyadh Province
(
KSA
) with two population peaks during spring and June (
Sharaf and Aldawood 2013
).
