Harwood (1932) described Glypthelmins subtropica Harwood, 1932 based on specimens from L . catesbeianus (USNPC: 30878); this name was used also by Parker (1941) ; however, in a recent phylogenetic analysis and revision of the genus, this species was considered synonym of G . quieta ( Razo-Mendivil et al . 2006 ; Razo- Mendivil & Pérez-Ponce de León 2008).
