Paratype , Zhejiang . 1 male, Lishui, Jingning, Yujikeng, sweep-net, 29-VII- 2010 , leg. Lu-Jing Yang [SM01566]. Diagnosis. The species is characterized by its ovate gonostylus with a slightly curved apical tooth arising from a well-developed lobe, two to three flagellate setae on the ventral mesial margin of gonostylus; hypopygium with a small conical setose intercoxal lobe; tegmen apically truncate, parameral apodeme continuously sclerotized forming a central strip on dorsal side. Description (male). Head dark brown; palps, antenna, thorax, abdomen and hypopygium brown; legs yellowish-brown; wings fumose. Head ( Figs 13 C, D). Eye bridge with 3 rows of facets. Prefrons with 7 setae. Clypeus with 1 seta. Maxillary palps 3-segmented, basal segment with 1–2 setae. Length/width index of 4th flagellomere: 2.19–2.64. FIGURE 14. Wings, dorsal view. Scale bar = 0.50 mm. Thorax . Anterior pronotum with 2–4 setae, episternum 1 with 1–2 setae. Wings ( Fig. 15 C). Wing length 1.63– 2.03 mm , width/length: 0.47–0.49. c/w: 0.71–0.72. R1/R: 0.62–0.70. M, CuA, stM and r-m nonsetose. Legs ( Fig. 13 E). Foretibia with bordered posteroventral patch of modified setae. Length of spur/width of foretibia 1.03–1.11. Length of femur/length of metatarsus: foreleg 1.23–1.29. Length of metatarsus/length of tibia: foreleg 0.58–0.59, hind leg 0.48. Length of hind tibia/length of thorax 1.18–1.44. Claws toothed. Hypopygium ( Figs 13 A, B). The gonocoxite as long as the gonostylus. The gonostylus ovate, with densely setose on the apicoventral part, with a slightly curved apical tooth arising from a well-developed lobe, two to three flagellate setae on the ventral mesial margin of gonostylus present. Hypopygium with a small conical setose intercoxal lobe. Apex of Tegmen truncate, parameral apodeme continuously sclerotized forming a central strip on dorsal side. Aedeagus relatively short. Sternite 10 with 1 seta on each half. Distribution. China ( Zhejiang , Fujian , Fig. 16 ). Remarks. This species is close to M. megalocornuta ( Mohrig & Menzel, 1992 ) in sharing a well-developed dorsal lobe on an ovate gonostylus, and apically truncate tegmen with parameral apodeme continuously sclerotized forming a central strip on dorsal side. The new species differs in having a dorsal lobe arising from the subapical part, while it is arising from the apex in M. megalocronuta . Etymology. This species is named after its apically truncate tegmen, from the Latin adjective truncatulus , meaning truncate.
