Diagnosis:
A comparatively small
Paracypridea
species
with the following peculiarities: carapace rectangularly rounded; maximum carapace height a long way in front of the centre at the transitional point from the anterior margin to the dorsal margin. Dorsal margin and ventral margin converging slightly towards the posterior. A weak, often only hinted at depression extends from the middle section of the dorsal margin to the centre of the carapace. Rostrum small but always distinct, rounded, and bent in towards the posterior. Post-rostral groove small. Rostral sulcus narrow, shallow, running more or less parallel to the valve margin. The fine sculpture consists of fine but marked dimples. -
Form a
: posterior margin evenly rounded. -
Form b
: the lower part of the posterior margin of the left valve is beveled-off in a distinctive way, and in front of it is a small tongue-like projection which overlaps the margin of right valve.
