SALVADORIELLA
Krömmelbein, 1963
Type
species:
Candona
?
redunca
Krömmelbein, 1962
Diagnosis:
A genus of
Cyprididae
(presumably
Cyclocypridinae
Kaufmann 1900
) with the following distinguishing features: carapace small to middle-sized at the most (
0.8 to 1.1mm
carapace length), in lateral outline rather beanshaped to rounded trapezoid shaped. Dorsal margin with a fairly straight middle section of at least half the carapace length. The left valve only a little larger than the right valve. Anterior margin of the valves broadly rounded, in some species distinctly drawn down and forwards. Posterior margin more narrowly rounded, however coming clearly to a point. Without strong sculpture: shell surface without fine sculpture; one species with a weak, latero-ventral lengthways ridge. Inner margin and line of concrescence not coincident. Calcified inner lamella moderately broad, broader at the anterior than at the posterior. Fused zone narrow. Pore canals not observed. Hinge presumably toothless. Central muscle field presumably of cyclocypridine form.
