Type-locality: “Westrogothis… Scania ” [ Sweden ]. Material examined. Hokkaido , 2 ♀ , Iwanai Riv., Obihiro, Tokachi, 19. ix. 1995 , leg. M. Iwasa. Diagnosis. This species is recognized by the following characteristics: frons, face, parafacial, and gena yellow ; prescutum and scutum dark brown; postpronotum and thoracic pleura yellow; scutellum yellow with a pair of apical setae ( Fig. 28 ); legs wholly yellow; abdominal tergites wholly yellow with narrow black line on each posterior margin ( Fig. 29 ). Body length ( ). 5.5–6.0 mm. Distribution. Europe, Japan ( Hokkaido ), Russia (the European part, Siberia, the Far East) ( Bagachanova et al ., 2016 ), North America. New to Japan . Remarks. Available specimens of this species are females, but as a result of my examination of specimens of M. pallida preserved in the Museum National d’Histoire naturelle (Paris), the characteristics agreed with those of female M. pallida .
