Lectotypifications, epitypifications and neotypifications in Zygophyllaceae species from South America Author Godoy-Bürki, Ana C. text Phytotaxa 2018 2018-05-11 349 2 130 140 http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/phytotaxa.349.2.3 journal article 10.11646/phytotaxa.349.2.3 1179-3163 13707519 2. Kallstroemia tribuloides (Mart.) Steudel (1840: 844) Ehrenbergia tribuloides Martius (1827: 72, t. 163). Type ( lectotype , designated here):— BRAZIL . Bahia in paseuis herbidis ad fluvium S. Francisci , prope Joazeiro, K.F.P. von Martius s.n. (M barcode M0243868 [digital image!] Fig. 2 ; isolectotypes M barcodes M0243867 [digital image!], M0243869 [digital image!]) . Notes : The types of most of Martius’ Brazilian species are deposited at M ( Stafleu & Cowan 1979 ). Hajo Esser, curator for Zygophyllaceae at M and a specialist for Martius’ collections, found three sheets that seem to be duplicates of the same gathering (pers. comm.). Sheet M0243868 is designated here as lectotype for corresponding best to the illustration accompanying the protologue (tab. 163). In addition it is very well preserved, with plenty of leaves and flowers for future studies ( Fig. 2 ). Notes : As pointed out by Porter (1969) and previously by Foster (1958) , the name ‘ Kallstroemia tribuloides Wight & Arn .., Prodr. 1: 1834: 145’ is commonly used for this taxon, but the combination was never proposed by Wight and Arnott. Steudel (1840) was the first to validly publish the combination, incorrectly attributing it to Wight and Arnott.
