Comment
Brachida africana
was originally described from
Tanzania
and subsequently reported also from
Kenya
(
PACE 1994
). The aedeagus of the above males is practically identical to the drawing of the aedagus of one of the
type
specimens provided by
PACE (1994)
. The observed slight differences are most likely explained by intraspecific variation. The above specimens represent the first records from
Saudi Arabia
and the Palaearctic region sensu
SMETANA (2004)
.
