Description
. Body size of adults reaching at least about
2 cm
. Body colour yellow, head and forcipular segment deep orange. Head about 1.5 times as long as wide. Clypeal ratio about 3.5. Clypeal setae: about 12 pairs, including one median pair anterior to the plagulae and a group on each side reaching the anterior corner. Labrum: anterior ala triangular, medial margin reduced to a vertex; posterior margin of sidepieces almost straight. First maxillae: anterior corners of coxosternum not projecting; each medial projection with 3–4 spines on the internal margin and 2 setae at midlength; basal part very large and distally rounded, about 3 times as long as the distal lobe; distal lobe emerging abruptly from the basal part, with an acute angle; each telopodite with 2 setae at midlength, distal lobe attenuated. Second maxillae: article I of the telopodite about 2.5 times as long as wide, article III slender, about 4.3 times as long as wide; claw absent. Forcipules: article I about 1.5 times as long as wide, distal tooth acute, and distinctly projecting outwards; article II without teeth; article III with a tubercle; tarsungulum with one distinct basal tooth. Last legbearing segment: sternum semicircular; about 14 pores on each coxopleuron.
Distribution in the considered area
.
Honshu: ‘Okyôdaira (Chichibu)’

(
type
locality).
General distribution
. Only known from the
type
locality.
Remarks
. The unusual elongation of the distal article of the telopodite of the second maxillae, inferred from the original drawing, may represent a diagnostic character.
