Aperture subvertical, ovate, obstructed by three major lamellae, 0 to 5 small folds and a transverse barrier behind the lower palatal folds. Endemic from Uruguay and Argentina . Type species: Helix dentata Wood, 1828 from Montevideo , Uruguay [subsequent designation by Pilsbry, 1898 ] .
