Mura elegantula
Distant 1905a: 143
. (
Chiriqui
, Panama)
Remarks.
The single species of the Panamanian genus
Mura
Distant 1905c
can be distinguished by the frons being half the length of the vertex, the lateral pronotal margins are adpressed so they are not visible from the dorsal side, the radial and radiomedial crossveins are parallel, the mediocubital crossvein is perpendicular to cubitus anterior 2, the presence of two spines on the fore femur, the opercula with a smoothly rounded lateral and posterior margin, and the lateral margins of the anterior abdominal segments are parallel. It has been confused with
Procollina quadrimaculata
n. sp.
(e.g. https://stricollections.org/portal/taxa/index.php?taxon=51555&taxaauthid=1) but the new species can be distinguished quickly by the lateral expansion of the pronotum, the three fore femoral spines, the parallel sides of the abdominal segments, and infuscation lacking on all crossveins and distal veins separating the apical cells of the fore wings.
Distribution.
The species is endemic to
Panama
(
Metcalf 1963a
;
Sanborn 2013
). The species has been reported from
Chiriqui
(
Distant 1905a
) and at Fortuna, Province of
ChiriquÃ
, at
1050 m
altitude in forest habitat (
Wolda & Ramos 1992
) in
Panama
