Jarabacoa (Cordillera Central), 30-IX-2008 , five females and one male on Tibouchina longifolia (Vahl) Baill. ex Cogn. (Melastomataceae) . Remarks. This species has previously been recorded from Brazil , Colombia , Costa Rica , Cuba , Ecuador , Guatemala , Guyana , Hawaii ( USA ), Honduras , México , Nicaragua , Perú , Puerto Rico , Surinam , USA and Venezuela . Specimens collected in Dominican Republic are similar to those McMurtry (1983) from Guatemala , except for the slightly shorter setae z2 (19–21 µm long in specimens from Dominican Republic and 24–26 in the Guatemalan mites), S2 (which is 35–37 µm in the Dominican Republic material and 41–44 in phytoseiids from Guatemala ) and S5 (11–13 µm and 15–19 µm in specimens from Dominican Republic and Guatemala , respectively).
