Described from 3 specimens , of which 1 male and 1 female are present in the collection of RMCA. Agroploce trixiphias Meyrick, 1939 is a junior subjective synonym of Eccopsis incultana Walker, 1863 , synonymized by Diakonoff (1981: 16) . The third specimen was supposed to be in BMNH, however, it was not found there (K. Tuck, pers. comm.). Brown (2005: 269) states that the holotype is in RMCA . Meyrick deposited one male and one female specimen in the collection of RMCA . In his paper (1939: 51), he indicated "Type in Congo Museum, Tervueren, Belgium " but he labelled both specimens as type. Diakonoff (1981: 16) , acting as first revisor, selected the female as the holotype (recte lectotype ) .
