Etymology. Named jeromei (noun in the genitive case) after Jérôme Constant, Hemiptera expert, Direction Taxonomy and Phylogeny and collection management expert at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (IRSNB), for his great contributions to the odonatology, mainly working with the Selys’ collection curation and for helping us many times over the years. Description of holotype Head. Labrum, anteclypeus, postclypeus, antefrons and genae black; two brownish small D-shaped spots (on each side of lateral ocelli); a large transversal pale stripe ranging from the postocular lobes through the occipital area, slightly darker in the occipital area; remainder of the head matte black. Thorax ( Figs. 1c , 2b, 2c ). Prothorax: anterior lobe pale brown; in dorsal view, medial lobe reddish-brown; hind lobe bluish, nearly straight at the middle, with blunt rounded corners. Pterothorax: black humeral stripe covering upper half of mesepisternum, remainder pale brown. FIGURE 1. (FAAL); d —Comparison between Leptagrion andromache and Leptagrion jeromei forewing pterostigma. Wings ( Fig. 1c ). Hyaline; pterostigma dark brown, rhomboid, occupying nearly one cell; 10 Px in FW, 11 Px in RHW ( 10 in LHW); RP2 arising at Px 6 in all wings. Abdomen ( Fig. 1c ). S1–2 dorsally dark brown, remainder pale brown; S3–5 light brown dorsally, pale brown laterally, S6–9 dark brown dorsally, pale greenish-brown laterally with black basal rings; anterior portion of S10 black dorsolaterally, remainder brown. Anal appendages ( Figs. 3c–d ). Dark brown; subequal in length to S10; in lateral view, with a small, dorsal, blunt, medial projection; in dorsal view, distal tooth short, not reaching middle portion of cercus, with blunt tips directed anteromedially. Measurements. TL: 47, AL: 39.4; FW: 23; HW: 22.3. Female . Unknown Variations in paratypes . Overall coloration of one paratype (collected 11.i.2006 ) is paler, the light brown in the abdomen of the holotype is replaced by a light green and the black in the labrum, anteclypeus, postclypeus, antefrons and genae is replaced by blue. Size differences compatible with a species that breeds in phytotelmata (TL: 47–52).
