Cells are rod-shaped with a width of 0.4–0.5 µm and length of 1.5–2 µm. Colonies are

in diameter and pale yellow, with a circular, convex, entire edge, and a glistening surface on MA after 3 days of cultivation. Growth is observed at 35–59 °C (optimum 55 °C), at pH 6.0–9.0 (optimum pH 6.0) and with 1–9% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2.5–3.5%) in the presence of KCl, MgCl
2
and CaCl
2
. Nitrate is reduced to nitrite. Negative for indole production and cannot assimilate aesculin,
