Celsia longirostris var. atlantica was described Maire (1940) based on collections made by Malencon from Tisgi gorges above the sources of Todra and by Maire and Weiller from Dades gorges between 1500-1600 m alt., both of which are situated in the Great Atlas Mountain. Since no holotype was designated in the protologue, these collections should be treated as syntypes in accordance with Art. 9.6 of the ICN ( Turland et al. 2018 ). Three specimens of both collections were traced at Herbs. RAB and MPU. Maire and Weiller' collection, no. 355 consists of two sheets (RAB030628 and MPU008974), while Malencon' collection comprises one sheet housed at Herb. MPU (MPU059325). Of these, the specimen MPU008974 housed at Herb. MPU is here selected as the lectotype for the name Celsia longirostris var. atlantica due to its high degree of preservation and as it agrees well with the protologue.
