Campyloneurum ophiocaulon
(Kunze ex Klotzsch) Fée, Mém. Foug.
5[Gen. Filic.]: 258. 1852.
=
Polypodium ophiocaulon
Kunze ex Klotzsch, Linnaea
20: 401. 1847
.
Range:
—
Colombia
and
Venezuela
to
Bolivia
(CO, LP, SC).
Ecology:
—Common, low epiphyte in undisturbed montane forests;
750–3200 m
.
Notes:
—Notable for the very long-creeping, narrow, non-pruinose, twining rhizomes. The venation is regular, with included excurrent veinlets not dividing the areoles. It generally occurs at somewhat higher elevations than the closely related
C. repens
, from which it differs by rhizome scales with obtuse apices (
vs
. acuminate).
