Junior subjective synonymy Centris fusciventris lectotype (♀): Mocsáry based his description on three female specimens of which we have examined two. A single female from Piauí, Brazil , is here designated as the lectotype and is labeled “Piauchy / Brasilia [printed]”, “848 / 90”, “45.”, “ C . ♀ / fusciventris / det. Friese 1898 / Mocs.”. According to the accession book at HNHM the specimen was purchased from E. Menkl in 1889. The lectotype of C . fusciventris corresponds to the previously established senior synonym, C . quadrimaculata (synonymy proposed in Moure et al . 2007 ).
