Notes on the taxonomy of poorly known Gryllacrididae (Stenopelmatoidea) from Brunei Darussalam, Borneo Author Tan, Ming Kai Author Wahab, Rodzay Bin Haji Abdul text Zootaxa 2018 2018-08-29 4462 4 579 591 journal article 29381 10.11646/zootaxa.4462.4.9 c6c9d194-3b2a-4ffa-8e8f-1550e634b78b 1175-5326 1441895 328C6B96-0E50-41F7-BDFD-50A8849DF97D Genus Phlebogryllacris Karny, 1937 Remarks: This genus consists of two known species, one from Borneo and the other from the Philippines . The type species of the genus is Phlebogryllacris venosa (Walker, 1869) from Borneo. Both species were described from females, although males were subsequently discovered. The female holotype P. venosa was supposed to be deposited in the NHM (Cigliano et al. , 2018) but we could not locate it. Instead, we found, among the accession collection, male specimens from Sarawak and Sabah . Close examination of the original description, deposited specimens and our single male collected from Brunei Darussalam suggest that these specimens belong to P. venosa . Grifiini (1910) redescribed the female of P. venosa with great details, Griffini (1914) described the male whereas Karny (1926 , 1929 ) provided a thorough description of the venation, and noted that its venation is unique from many other gryllacridids. However, as there were previously no illustration of this beautiful gryllacridid, we redescribe the species, provide a new diagnosis, and present images of this species of both live and preserved specimens.
