TYPE LOCALITY : Colombia , Santa Fé de Bogotá . TYPE : Syntype ³ ( BMNH ). DISCUSSION : Wing-pattern similarities suggest that S. dimidiata from central Colombia , and S. discinota (pl. 33) from western Venezuela , are sister species. Their FW and HW patterns, and most other morphological features, are the same. Means for separating S. dimidiata from S. discinota are provided in the Scea species key, as well as in the discussion for S. discinota (below).
