New to Saudi Arabia . It was described from China . Taxonomic remarks. Often this species was included in literature under the name Helinella , either as a genus or subgenus of Helina . The synonym propinqua of authors not Stein listed in Catalogue of the Diptera of the Afrotropical Region ( Crosskey 1980: 747 ) applies to a different species occurring in Papua and eastwards.
