Colour in life. Base colour white. Ventral surface, fingers and mesial surfaces of chelipeds, anterior and posterior third of carapace (except midline), and lateral margins of abdomen orange. Remarks. The ovigerous female differs from the type description ( Macpherson 2007 ) only in the number of subdistal spines on the rostrum: two on the left side and one on the right, rather than one on each side. Distribution. Solomon Islands , Vanuatu , New Caledonia , Fiji , Wallis and Futuna Islands, and for the first time, New Zealand ; 835–1478 m ( Macpherson 2007; present study ).
