Note.
Species belonging to the ‘
B. orbicollis
species group’ (along with
B. crassus

B. orbicollis

B. pseudolaevis
) distinguished by the habitus as well as the distinctive and very similar morphology of aedeagus (
Allegro & Giachino 2011b
).
Distribution.
All the recorded specimens of
B. pinguis
(M. Etonti legit) are from the Dept. Cajamarca (northern
Peru
) (
Allegro & Giachino 2011b
).
Habitat.
The altitude data reported on the labels (
4,050 m
a.s.l.) suggest a preference of this species for the Andean grassland.
