The genus Dryophthorus has an extensive distribution throughout the world with numerous species known. Six of these occur in the Americas but numerous undescribed species exist. Stenommatus has three species known from South and Central America , and Mexico . These weevils are recognizable by their small size and antennal funicle of 4 articles. Members of this subfamily are not treated further herein.
