Etymology
. The specific name is a noun in apposition that refers to the
type
locality of the
holotype
.
Diagnosis
. Males of
S. maquine
n.sp.
resemble those of
S. fusca
Walckenaer
by the palp with very simple bulb, distally narrowed and with no projections (
Figs. 137–138
;
Brescovit & Rheims 2000
: 322, figs. 9–10). They are distinguished by the distal region slightly widened anteriorly and abruptly narrowed posteriorly (
Figs. 137–138
). The females are distinguished from those of the remaining Neotropical
Scytodes
by the large, irregular spermathecae, adjacent to small, slightly oval hyaline pockets (
Fig. 140
).
