Male: (F) palp (Iran); (G) leg I (South Africa). Diagnosis den Heyer (1979a) gave a full description of this species. The Iranian material shows some geographical variations from that description as indicated below. Female ( Figure 3C–E ) (n = 8) Dimensions. Idiosoma: length 322 (251–378); width 232 (192–257); hypognathum: length 154 (135–162); width 84 (73–95); palp length 185 (162–202); chelicera length 143 (135–162); length of leg: leg I 279 (257–297); leg II 253 (221–273); leg III 283 (259–297); leg IV 320 (284–351); sensillae length: vi 171 (162–189), sce 228 (197–257). Dorsum and venter show no obvious differences. Palpi differ only in very minor detail ( Figure 3C , Iran ). Legs: basifemur III with three sts; genu I with three asl (South African material possesses an additional alveolus lacking the usual solenidion); genua III and IV, each with one asl, four sts, one ms; st-setae on tarsi I–IV vary around 22 or 23 or 24–25 or 21–20 or 21 ( Figure 3D , Iranian specimen: Figure 3E , South African specimen).
