Comments.
The only known specimen of
D. halterata
is from
Colombia
(
Caldas
) (
Enderlein
1914
;
Papavero
2009).
The
type
specimen was deposited in the Stettiner Zoologisches Museum. According to
Papavero
(2009), the same is deposited at
IZPAN
.
However
, according to
T. Huflejt
(
in litt.
), there is only one type-specimen in that collection, determined by
Enderlein
as
Diplosynapsis flavihalterata
(
Figs.
49–53
).
Although
with different names, the label data correspond to the data presented in the original description of
D. halterata
.
So
, it is plausible that
D. flavihalterata
corresponds to the
holotype
of
D. halterata
.
According to
Enderlein (1914)
,
D. halterata
has a yellow abdomen, black laterally, tergites and sternites 6 and 7 without a silvery shine and yellow halters. In the pictures available for study, it is noticeable that the tergites 2–4 are black and tergite 5 and basal 3/4 of tergite 6 are brown. Moreover, the apical 1/4 of tergite 6 and 7 have silver tomentum, although dull (
Figs. 49, 52
).
Distribution.
Colombia
(
Caldas
) (
Fig. 76
).
