NOTES
Common in Tierra del Fuego and on Îles Kerguelen but also extending north to south-central
Chile
(
Müller 2009
). It is an autoicous species related to
Ptychostomum pseudotriquetrum
(Hedw.) J.R.Spence & H.P.Ramsay ex Holyoak & N.Pedersen
, but with a reduced peristome and larger spores. A southern hemisphere/South American temperate-subantarctic (Îles Kerguelen only) species.
