Paratype 1 ♂ : “ PARATYPE ” // “ MADAGASCAR BEKILY REG SUD DE L’ILE” // “MUSÉUM PARIS I.32 A. SEYRIG”. Type locality: Madagascar : Andrahomana [Southern Madagascar ]. Current status: Junior synonym of Lestomerus noctis (Distant, 1902) ( Villiers 1968b: 36 ) . Remarks: The synonymy proposed by Villiers (1968b) was ignored by Maldonado (1990: 360) who listed Lestomerus piceipes as a valid species. The type locality is spelled in two ways: “Andrahomana” and “Andrahimana”. According to Viette (1991) the first spelling is correct.
