Examined material.
1 an. and 1 sh. (MACN-In 40664).
Description.
Shell width to
0.8 mm
(up to
1.5 mm
according to
Strebel 1908
); trochiform, solid. Protoconch of
about 1 whorl; transition to teleoconch poorly defined. Teleoconch of up to 1.75 whorls, markedly convex in outline; last whorl comprising about 90% of total shell height. Suture deep, slightly channeled. Surface white; sculptured with 16 to 19 strong axial ribs per whorl. Aperture rounded, interior white; columellar callus moderately thick. Umbilicus narrow.
Remarks.
The original figure shows fewer axial ribs than the material here examined (13 or 14
vs
. 16 to 19). However,
Strebel (1908)
pointed out that number of ribs he figured is approximate.
