as well as
23 females
and
25 males
from
England, Hungary, Italy

Sweden
, and
Switzerland
(

) con®rmed the synonymy as discussed by
Graham (1969: 230)
.
There
are diOEerent colour forms which run to
ru
W
pes
in
Graham’s
key (1969: 227, 228).
Some
specimens have the base of the mandibles strongly darkened, others have them completely pale (e.g. type series of
fulgens
) but intermediates also occur (e.g.
lectotype
of
ru
W
pes
). Both forms were occasionally caught together, for instance
two females
from England,
