Type locality: “ Mapanja , Cameroon ”. Distribution . It extends across Central Africa, from Cameroon to the East of Democratic Republic of the Congo . In Equatorial Guinea it has been recorded both in Bioko ( Boulenger 1919 ) and Río Muni at Monte Alén National Park ( Lasso et al. 2002 ), including Monte Mitra ( Gonwouo & Nsang 2005 ) ( Map 31B ). Comments. No precise records are known from Bioko. Bothrolycus is a monotypic genus sister to Bothrophthalmus ( Zaher et al. 2019 ) . Specimens examined. One specimen.
