Usinger (1966) considered that the short description and the presented illustration did not provide enough distinctive characters to identify the species, and considered the name C. passerinus [ type specimens very probably loosed] as a synonym of C. furnarii . Later, C. passerinus was also found in Argentina in a nest of Passer domesticus (Table 1).
