Old World tropics. Sub-himalayan foot hill zone in India extending to southeastern Asia, China.

). In Myanmar found in Mandalay, Taninthayi, and Yangon.

Leaf
: Used for stomatitis, diaphoretic;
Fruit
: Used for nausea and biliousness.

Medicinal uses of this species in India are discussed in
Jain and DeFilipps (1991)
as follows: The bark is used as a prenatal and postnatal treatment for women to purify the blood (with roots of two other plants); the fruit is used for biliousness and liver complaints.
