Material examined La Réunion : MD 32 , stn CP55, 21 ° 05.39S , 55 ° 12.59E , 97–110 m , 22 August 1982 , 1 ovig. (MNHN-Na 14912) . Remarks Previously known only from the type specimens from the Philippines . The present specimen agrees closely with the original description and is in good condition with intact rostrum and both second pereiopods. The specimen has a carapace length of 2.3 mm , the rostrum reaching the end of the antennular peduncle, with a dentition of 1+7/2, the first tooth situated slightly posterior to the level of the orbital margin. The specimen lacks the elevated posterior dorsal rostral carina found in P. vaubani and the ventral teeth are distinctly larger. The ventral border of the rostrum is straight, and not convex as in P. richeri . The second pereiopods are similar, unequal, both dactyls with a dorsal flange, the major carpus is about 0.3 of the palm length and the minor about 0.5. This new record indicates a large increase in the range of this small species. The only previous record was from a similar depth, 92– 97 m . Figure 22. Periclimenes involens Bruce, 1996 , ovigerous female (MNHN-Na 14912), carapace. Distribution Type locality: 12 ° 319N, 120 ° 399E, off Mindoro , Philippines . Now also known from La Réunion .
